    Social Work in the Adoption Authority

    Social workers in the Adoption Authority understand that adoption is a life-long process and one that can generate a mix of emotions and questions for all parties involved.

    Social workers in the Adoption Authority are skilled in delivering a high quality and consistent services. We seek to continually develop new approaches in the area of adoption and are committed to providing support and working collaboratively based upon the client’s needs.
    The work of the social work team broadly falls into two categories, Current Adoption Processes and Information and Records

    CURRENT ADOPTION PROCESSES

    It is the responsibility of social work team alongside other colleagues in the Adoption Authority of Ireland to review every stage of the adoption process for domestic and inter-country adoptions.

     

    INFORMATION AND RECORDS

    The second category of work of the social work team relates to past adoptions and involves the provision of information and records services to adopted persons and their relatives.
